EXTRAHUMAN - CHRONICLES OF FUTURE PAST: n1ghtn01se DANCEFLOORS

n1ghtn01se DANCEFLOORS by Laura Herradura

During a hot summer evening in Madrid, just when the air seems to blow a little bit cooler, youngsters and roaches head out to the streets for a plan till dawn.
The event we’ll narrate happened just below the plain streets of Nuevos Ministerios, Madrid, where some electronic music freaks know about the basement clubs, refuges for techno lovers. In the premises of such pure techno, hetero DJs scene, N1GHTN01SE aimed to break this pattern, making the space more feminine and queer-friendly with performative proposals that break genre moulds. We’ll tell the tale of the eXTRAHUMAN party n1ghtn01se hosted at Speckaclub on the last 4th of July.

A very extra night full of very extraordinary artists.

The event was divided into 3 story tales we’ll describe as they unveil themselves:

FANTASY 3000, ULTRA COMBAT and HYPERSEXXX TRIP.

Waiting for this journey to start, we take a look around the venue to discover some details in the physical space. The DJ table is decorated with metallic tentacles full of flowers, just as they grow in Annihilation.

On stage, Claudia’s visuals are introducing the show, they will also announce each artist thought the night, in the back preparing the recorder we can see Shared Frequencies will record all the music sets. On our way to the bathroom, there are two more spots, these areas were designed to enjoy and manage pleasures given by the whole experience.

In the Energy Control Corner some volunteers from Energy Control, experts themselves, offer us free leaflets with all the information about the responsible ways to take drugs if you choose to, condoms and stickers. Merchandising included, these three girls who go way beyond handing free pamphlets, people reach out to them with confessions, the questions they never dared to ask and the urban legends they want to know the truth to.

Right beside them, we find the Tactile Hallway, a sensorial experience in the hallway to the bathroom. Here you’ll find slime, feathers, velvet, wiggle eyes, wobbly threads and smiley faces in every shape, colour, orientation to trip around and a big etc of textures. Then, just as we dig our fingers into Orbeez, the first MC starts speaking on the mic.

FANTASY 3000

At 18h, the music started for the FANTASY 3000 journey. A song from the Remix Mixtape by Isabella Lovestory is on.

The opening show by TRXY TRIX is a tribute to eurodance and electronic music divas for 2000s me, kids. Her music performance started as her DJ self TRXY, and introduced some invited guests during the mix. When Cascada started sounding, the pop star Robie hop on stage to sing her cover of “Every time we touch” and her latest single “Bésame”. When going urban in the mix, the most real Benson hit the mic over his beats for Black Aventador, his latest video, and the hit Big Papers. Special guest, Diego San Marcos aka Discoboy as the title of his debut album, took us on a spiritual journey through his music like a guided meditation. A dance journey we continued with beats he produced with TRIX and she showcased as TRXY some of these unreleased songs. Anthems made out of remembering references from the bakala and 2000s electronic scenes will release by the end of this year.

The next act was DEREK V BULCKE also known as FLAMANTE because of his original aka as a flamenco noise artist. Nowadays, he still has the flamenco, the noise, but his act is more than that, a deep and ceremonial experience to witness. Covered in a lace veil, Derek started his mix on stage with some hard dance beats and bumpin rhythms full of TikTok and popular samples. He was covered in laser lights, designed and controlled by the visual artist Cris Beltrán which made the show intriguing and futuristic although we knew all the references Derek threw at us from long ago. Once Derek had the mic with him, a new kind of ‘cante jondo’ was born out of the union of Derek’s voice ability for cante and the noise of synthesizers. A beautiful ode to flamenco and how it has always survived, breaking with the established ways.

As a closure for the Fantasy 3000 voyage, only Vera Amores and Perla Zúñiga could soothe our souls after the electronic hype. Through a sound forest, their show “el hechizo del viejecito” as the spell of an old man, haunts your journey thoughts and memories. A place to get lost or find yourself. The pace is always given by the voice of Vera and Perla through their poetry and the mix of hardcore and ASMR sounds they like to use. Pointing directly at the audience, Perla playfully tells everything about pain and acceptance through rhymes and heartbreaking silences. She breaks the 4th wall to make you her confident or accomplice to her words. Their outfits by EMEERREE served the elegance of the Wicked Witch of the East with the delicacy of a fairy in the sunlight.

ULTRA COMBAT

Just at the struck of midnight, the ULTRA COMBAT journey begins. We asked all our guests to bring their rage to the dance floor because we keep existing, we keep surviving and we want to go further.

In this trip, artists believe in elevating humanity to the next level and they bring their art to the table in performative ways. To start the combat, the one and only Cute Aggression, the cutest sicko on the CDJs. His mixes made all the older generations cry with nostalgia for the good old days when “cantaditas” and Dj Marta ruled the world, and just when they were about to dance he would mix them with Demi Lovato, Shakira or Madonna as some of the main divas that sound in his mix.
Also, the visuals he made with Alco took us into the deepest moments of the Spanish internet JUICY CUTRE style, an exquisite zapping of epic Britney moments and crazy typographies with their names, among other material we could only enjoy this way, at 140 BPM. This crazy session that Cute Aggression did made us SWEAT (Supreme Wet Eternal Angels Too).

Next in the battle, from Murcia, the SE corner of Spain, we welcome Beatrix Weapons. Queen of female noise and experimental, she felt dizzy with sex drives during her set. Bea wanted to know how horny we were, if we would vibe with her music and eclectic sounds full of bass and AutoTune. Damn well, we did, the crowd staring at her creating sounds, undressing creatively in front of us to let us peek into her Weapons world. Tough with her sounds yet soft with her voice, she sang to us as mermaids would do.

Just as Beatrix finished her song, Kai Landre could not wait for his turn to bring on the fight. The fiercest kitty in the room has clearly arrived at her natural habitat, the stage. Beatrix and Kai shared the stage for some exciting songs where clean, sharp and melodic sounds from Kai collided with the vocals and noise beats of Beatrix beautifully.

Once the stage was Kai’s, he gave us some of his most recent work full of soulful captivating sounds that bring us back to church with great reverb and lures us to move our bodies in sexy, slow ways. Also, heavy vogue references clash with the sounds from the universe by his CosmicSense, they are in tune with Kai’s attitude and presence on stage. We could not have enough of him, his moves and the new songs.

HYPERSEXXX TRIP

After the hottest show of the night by Kai, we keep getting hotter. At this point, all the audience was redirected outside, to cool up the Specka venue and enjoy the breeze of July nights. Just outside, there is a standalone pole dance with its own platform, ready for the next performance.

As people light up their cigarettes, the street becomes a target. All the walls start being illuminated by red laser dots. They move with the beat of music played outside, but the audience can’t point where it comes from.
Suddenly, from the top of the stairs, we see the source, a tall girl wearing just a bikini, a mask and pleasers.
The bra and mask she’s wearing radiate red laser streams of light that get us captivated with her fractal beauty.

Mother has arrived, Virgen María, and she already has us gagging. As she reaches for the pole, the Blexatin remix starts to play, and the sexiest virgin we’ve ever seen starts pole dancing to the beat, the bikini and mask still glowing up the scene with red light and once the music stops, she goes inside Specka and all the audience follows her lead.
When Virgen María starts to play her mix, the surprises keep coming, her show is a visual and sound orgasm full of references against censorship. Visuals with mukbang, AI image treatment, TikTok transitions and Filip Custic art, leave us breathless. She keeps us hooked with her changes of outfit and her moaning sounds, the rhythmic beats like reggeaton or Brasil funk mix with hardcore to reach religious ecstasy. With a bang of her heel, Maria ends her set and we could never have enough of that.

As Virgen María disappears into the audience, we prepare the shower curtains, literally, because this hot and bothered audience is about to get soaking wet with the Hoe-Logram XXXperience. The room is covered by transparent plastic curtains for holograms to be projected on and artists will be present under this format for their show. You may look, or touch, these HoLographic Hoes want the audience to dance and strip around them.

The show starts with Naive Supreme the DJ and producer from the Canary Islands who makes the Virgen Maria sounds possible. He brings a daring mix and a holographic stripping show.
Mixing the highest BPMs, Naive Supreme makes us give our all on the dancefloor with club anthems, reggaeton beats and hardcore rhythm. The movement of his hologram selves in the shower curtain makes us believe we are surrounded by his ghosts dancing around us and letting us peek at his lovely ass cheeks. We wish we could tip his hologram for this experience and have Naive Supreme dance for us.

When the music fades, so does his image but also three ratchets from across the ocean appear through the shower curtains. The famous $trip Clab from Buenos Aires, Argentina has arrived to Madrid.

As the next Hoe-holograms dance through the shower curtain on the stage, we recognize Flavia $ustancia’s voice, which is the signal to let out G-strings up. As we dance to her reggaeton yet punk vocals, her main bitches show up to light up the show.
Beside her, there is SassyGGirl, her attitude and that brattiness about her will make you drawn to her moves and her songs right away.
Both, are $trip Clab, the new concept they have created starting their own projects Flavia with $TRIPPERVEGANA and Sassy with her solo career in AGVA Records.

As a surprise featuring, they brought in Rattlesnake aka LW0 for a special appearance and dance during this sexy set.

And just as we explode with the sexiness and joy brought from $trip Clab, the white lights in the club are switched on. In the blink of an eye, we are transported back to our pandemic reality where we could not dance together, we can only see half of our faces and clubs close at 3 AM.
