R & M LEATHERS COLLIDES WITH VITALII AKIMOV: A GATA EDITORIAL
In this exclusive editorial GATA favourite Vitalii Akimov teamed up with UK-based brand R & M Leathers and muse Lidija Judickaite to create a photo series that captures the very ethos that defines the brand: independence, strength and a unapologetic refusal to prove anything to anyone.
When asked about the genesis of this photoshoot, Akimov was frank and honest about his process, “Normally this is where you’d find a text explaining a concept. A few words about deconstruction, identity and contemporary femininity. Something that helps the photographs feel intellectually justified. We simply wanted to created a beautiful editorial for the independent creative magazine GATA.”
“Maybe that was the concept after all. Sometimes the most honest thing you can do is stop looking for grand explanations and simply create something you’d genuinely want to see for yourself.”
